Apple recently held a special event to introduce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, but the tech giant’s plans for this year are not yet complete. According to announcements made last week, Apple is expected to unveil new M4 processor-powered Macs and iPad updates this fall, particularly in October. So, will there be a separate event for these products? The date may provide an answer.
Surprises in Store for October!
Apple has held special events in October multiple times. Here are some of the October events from the past five years:
- October 30, 2023: The ‘Scary Fast’ event introduced new MacBook Pro and iMac models with the M3 chip.
- October 18, 2021: The ‘Unleashed’ event showcased the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
- October 13, 2020: The ‘Hi, Speed’ event announced the iPhone 12 series and the HomePod mini.
- October 30, 2018: The ‘There’s More in the Making’ event introduced the new iPad Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini.
- October 27, 2016: The ‘Hello Again’ event highlighted the refreshed MacBook Pro series and the introduction of the Touch Bar.
As seen, while Apple does not hold an event every October, those that do occur generally focus on the Mac series. This year, the spotlight will likely be on the M4 processor-powered MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also confirmed that Apple is expected to hold another event in October.
Apple is anticipated to announce the M4 chip MacBook Pro, along with a completely redesigned Mac mini and a 24-inch M4 processor-powered iMac. Furthermore, it is reported that Apple plans to update its entire Mac lineup with the M4 chip, with the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro models expected to be updated by 2025.
After updating the iPad Pro in May, Apple is also expected to refresh the entry-level iPad and iPad mini models in October. These updates come at a crucial time, particularly in preparation for the holiday season.
In addition to hardware updates, Apple may also introduce iOS 18.1 and new AI-focused features under the name Apple Intelligence. This move into artificial intelligence is viewed as a significant development that will pique investor interest.
The countdown has begun for Apple’s upcoming event next month. The tech giant is gearing up to capture attention again this fall with its new M4 chip Mac models and iPad updates.
